| Function Description | Stable overexpression of LCAL1, using two different clones, in the control cell line BEAS-2B showed a significant increase in cellular proliferation starting on day 2 and continuing until the end of the experiment at day 6 with a 38% and 43% growth increase, respetcively. Overexpression of LCAL1 in normal BEAS-2B cells is proof of principle that this lncRNA is sufficient to affetc cellular growth independently of other common cancer mutations, thus highlighting the importance of LCAL1 in lung cancer biology. |
