Cancer&Entry Information
| Cancer Name | prostate cancer |
| ICD-0-3 | C61.9 |
| Methods | qPCR, RNAi, Luciferase reporter assay etc. |
| Sample | cell line (LNCaP) |
| Expression Pattern | up-regulated |
| Function Description | We show that PCAT-1 promotes prostate cell proliferation and that this phenotype is mediated through up-regulation of the cMyc protein (encoded by the MYC gene). Antagonism of cMyc is able to reverse PCAT-1??ediated cell proliferation. We show that PCAT-1 regulates cMyc post-transcriptionally through the MYC 3' untranslated region (UTR). Further, we find a protetcive effetc of PCAT-1 on cMyc by interfering with the regulation of MYC by miR-34a. |
