Cancer&Entry Information
| Cancer Name | melanoma |
| ICD-0-3 | NA |
| Methods | qRT-PCR, Luciferase Reporter Assay, Western blotting |
| Sample | melanoma tissues,melanoma cell lines (A375, SK-MEL-28, SK-MEL-5, and WM3211) and normal melanocytes PIG1 cell line |
| Expression Pattern | up-regulated |
| Function Description | The expression of CASC15 and ?-catenin was upregulated in melanoma tissues and cells. Knockdown of CASC15 suppressed Wnt/?-catenin signaling pathway and inhibited ?-catenin expression. Furthermore, inhibition of CASC15 decreased proliferation and increased apoptosis of melanoma cells by downregulating Survivin and Bcl-2 and upregulating Bax in A375 and SK-MEL-28 cells. Silencing of CASC15 inhibited migration and invasion of melanoma cells by repressing EMT process. |
