Function Description The present study aimed to evaluate the expression profiles of circRNA-CER in breast cancer and investigate their potential role in the disease. The data demonstrated that the expression levels of circRNA-CER in breast cancer tissue were significantly higher compared with in adjacent non-tumor tissue, and that circRNA-CER may function as a competing endogenous RNA to regulate the expression of MMP13 by competing with miR-136 in breast cancer cells. To the best of our knowledge the present study demonstrated for the first time a positive circRNA?CER/MMP13 association, and crosstalk among miR-136, circRNA-CER and MMP13, which provides novel insight into the treatment of breast cancer.
